The Iron Legacy Foundation is now accepting 2026 applications for the Iron Legacy Foundation Scholarship (formerly known as the La Puente Community Scholarship).
This $500 scholarship is made possible through donations from community members and generous donors.
With a shared commitment to educational opportunity, we aim to help students overcome financial barriers and pursue higher education.

Eligibility requirements
The purpose of this scholarship is to recognize and provide support to high school seniors in the La Puente community who meet the following criteria:
- Reside in the city of La Puente, including unincorporated areas (see map below)
- Currently a senior in high school
- Demonstrate financial need (refer to the income chart in the application to determine eligibility)
- Pursuing post-secondary education (4-year institutions, private colleges, vocational (trade) schools, and community colleges)
Immigration status will not be a deciding factor because this application is open to all high school seniors residing in La Puente.
La Puente includes the unincorporated areas of West Puente Valley, Bassett, Avocado Heights, Valinda, and South San Jose Hills. Please refer to the map below and if you live within the red zones you are eligible to apply.

- Parental consent if you are under 18 years old
- Your family’s estimated annual income
- Essay responses

*The scholarship will initially award one person with $500, and it’s important to note that additional scholarships may be awarded depending on donations received.
